Fund raising for the local community

Holbefest is a not for profit organisation that organises and runs the Holbefest family fun day and music festival in June of each year. The organisation is volunteer based and none of the committee members or those involved in the running of the event receive compensation for their time. All proceeds raised  by Holbefest are ploughed back into the local community, supporting the local school, clubs and societies.

The past three years has seen Holbefest raise a considerable amount of money for the local village school, Holbeton Primary School. As a small village school, it is essential that funds are raised to support the great work of the school team and school association. The money raised was used in a variety of ways and was left to the discretion of the chair of the school association and the head teacher.  Funds raised through Holbefest has enabled the school to purchase a much needed set of guided reading materials for Key Stage 1 and Foundation years, acquire additional resources for outdoor learning and helped to finance a residential experience for the children, covering the cost of transport and supporting families who have more than one child in the class. The School Association has also used monies raised from Holbefest to fund the after school club enabling to continue to do their work in providing wrap around care for local children.
